Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work A Hundred Suns III by Talha Rathore. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 4,745.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Talha Rathore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Hundred Suns III von Talha Rathore zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 4.745,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Talha Rathore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) versteigert wurde.
