Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work (i) OBJECT – N & (ii) OBJECT S-LI & (iii) OBJECT - S.W. by Takesada Matsutani was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 6,300.00 (€ 6,433.53). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Takesada Matsutani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Work 65-W in June this year with an auction result of GBP 214,200.00 (€ 249,291.92).
