Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Al Murakibi (The Boatman) by Tahia Halim was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in October 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,910.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tahia Halim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Farhat Al Nuba (The Happiness of Nubia) in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 749,000.00 (€ 697,328.00).
