Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sylvia Gosse could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Mrs Alexandra Russell changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,528.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sylvia Gosse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fairground, which sold at auction in November 2020 for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 22,505.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sylvia Gosse konnte im Juli 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Mrs Alexandra Russell für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.528,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sylvia Gosse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Fairground beobachtet, die im November 2020 für GBP 20.160,00 (€ 22.505,36) versteigert wurde.
