The work New Zealander Concarneau by Sydney Lough Thompson was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 25,200.00 (€ 15,366.39), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sydney Lough Thompson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot New Zealander Dutch Seascape sold at auction in November 2009 with the realized price of AUD 26,400.00 (€ 16,098.12).

Die Arbeit New Zealander Concarneau von Sydney Lough Thompson wurde im November 2009 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 25.200,00 (€ 15.366,39) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sydney Lough Thompson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit New Zealander Dutch Seascape im November 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 26.400,00 (€ 16.098,12).
