A top price for Sydney Kumalo - as previously expected
The work Xhosa Girl by Sydney Kumalo was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2017. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,485.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Xhosa Girl is the most expensive artwork by Sydney Kumalo that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Xhosa Girl von Sydney Kumalo kam im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.485,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Xhosa Girl das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sydney Kumalo, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
