The work Canto No. 28 by Sydney Ball was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. It achieved a price of AUD 14,340.00 (€ 8,814.88), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 59%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sydney Ball - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Diagonal #1 (Canto Series), which sold at auction in August 2009 for AUD 38,400.00 (€ 22,576.12).

Die Arbeit Canto No. 28 von Sydney Ball kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von AUD 14.340,00 (€ 8.814,88) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 59%. Für andere Arbeiten von Sydney Ball mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Diagonal #1 (Canto Series) beobachtet, die im August 2009 für AUD 38.400,00 (€ 22.576,12) versteigert wurde.
