Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Patient Detail, Perfect DesignJapanese Art across the Centuries, which included the work Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1766 by Suzuki Harunobu. The price achieved of GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,659.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Suzuki Harunobu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Furyu enshoku Maneemon (Fashionable lusty Maneemon) in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 107,671.60).
