Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work an intimate moment between a couple visiting a kiku matsuri (chrysanthemum festival) by Suzuki Harunobu was sold in the From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. It achieved a price of GBP 2,304.00 (€ 2,680.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Suzuki Harunobu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Furyu enshoku Maneemon (Fashionable lusty Maneemon) in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 107,671.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit an intimate moment between a couple visiting a kiku matsuri (chrysanthemum festival) von Suzuki Harunobu wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.304,00 (€ 2.680,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 15%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Suzuki Harunobu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Furyu enshoku Maneemon (Fashionable lusty Maneemon) im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 107.671,60).
