This artwork by Susan Ryder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2004. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Brantome sold for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,973.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Susan Ryder; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Cupid Lamp sold at auction in August 2007 with the realized price of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,740.88).
