Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Maria of Modena, Queen of England (1658-1718), circa 1685 by Susan Penelope Rosse was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,512.00 (€ 1,689.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Susan Penelope Rosse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Louise Renée de Kérouaille, Duchess of Portsmouth and Aubigny (1649-1734), in lace-bordered blue dress, gem-set pendant at corsage, a further gem-set pendant at her left shoulder, her upswept brown hair dressed in ringlets, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,250.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Maria of Modena, Queen of England (1658-1718), circa 1685 von Susan Penelope Rosse kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.512,00 (€ 1.689,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
