This artwork by Lily Yeats achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2017. In the Yeats: The Family Collection auction, the work The Golden Apples Of The Sun, The Silver Apples Of The Moon sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,381.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lily Yeats; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Three Embroideries sold at auction in September 2017 with the realized price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,926.99).
