Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Profile (Radha) by Suhas Roy for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,863.85). This price was achieved in the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Suhas Roy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Midnight in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 57,000.00 (€ 41,572.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Profile (Radha) von Suhas Roy für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.863,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Suhas Roy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Midnight im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 57.000,00 (€ 41.572,46).
