This artwork by Stuart Scott Somerville achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2005. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Seated Nude sold for GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,572.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stuart Scott Somerville - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Scottish panelled hall, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,600.16).
