Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Scale Study #1 for 'Allée' by Stuart Davis for USD 65,000.00 (€ 60,572.17). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stuart Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rue Lipp in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,847,200.00 (€ 6,047,160.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Scale Study #1 for 'Allée' von Stuart Davis für USD 65.000,00 (€ 60.572,17) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stuart Davis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rue Lipp im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.847.200,00 (€ 6.047.160,65).
