Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Doctor by Stuart Cumberland was sold in the The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 auction at Sothebys in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 1,188.00 (€ 1,419.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stuart Cumberland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work John Surtees, which sold at auction in April 2019 for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,362.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Doctor von Stuart Cumberland wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.188,00 (€ 1.419,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Stuart Cumberland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit John Surtees beobachtet, die im April 2019 für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.362,33) versteigert wurde.
