Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The British 36-gun frigate Belvidera, Captain Richard Byron, under pursuit by Commodore Rodger's U.S. Squadron, President, United States, Hornet, Congress and Argus, 23rd June 1812 by Stuart Bolton was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,590.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stuart Bolton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work H.M.S. Royal Sovereign emerging from her refit and lying in the Hamoaze, Plymouth Sound in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,152.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The British 36-gun frigate Belvidera, Captain Richard Byron, under pursuit by Commodore Rodger's U.S. Royal Sovereign emerging from her refit and lying in the Hamoaze, Plymouth Sound im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.152,55).
