Auction result misses estimated price range
In September this year a collector was able to acquire the work Ceramic (Brass Consumer) by Sterling Ruby for USD 11,430.00 (€ 10,799.32). This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sterling Ruby achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sp231 in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,785,000.00 (€ 1,374,345.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ceramic (Brass Consumer) von Sterling Ruby für USD 11.430,00 (€ 10.799,32) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sterling Ruby erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sp231 im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.785.000,00 (€ 1.374.345,55).
