In December 2010 Christies in New York held the auction The Year of the Rabbit: The Playboy Collection, which included the work Brande Roderick, April Playmate of the Month, 2000 by Stephen Wayda. The auction ended at the price of USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,884.09), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stephen Wayda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shauna Sand, May Playmate of the Month, 1996, which sold at auction in December 2010 for USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,956.59).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Year of the Rabbit: The Playboy Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brande Roderick, April Playmate of the Month, 2000 von Stephen Wayda zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 1.884,09) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Stephen Wayda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shauna Sand, May Playmate of the Month, 1996 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.956,59) versteigert wurde.
