It achieved a price of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,017.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stephen Tennant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Six framed studies of sailors for Lascar, A Story of the Maritime Boulevard, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,231.76).
