Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Stephen Gilbert was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,940.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Stephen Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man and Horse in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,722.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Stephen Gilbert wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.940,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man and Horse im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.722,34).
