A top price for Stella Bowen
When the work Jardin Exotique, c.1938 by Stella Bowen was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - AUD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at AUD 123,000.00 (€ 108,974.93). This high result makes Jardin Exotique, c.1938 the most expensive artwork by Stella Bowen that we have observed at auctions so far.
