Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in London held the auction British Impressionism Day Sale, which included the work Becalmed by Stanhope Alexander Forbes. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,284.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanhope Alexander Forbes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Quarry Team in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,289.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Impressionism Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Becalmed von Stanhope Alexander Forbes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.284,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanhope Alexander Forbes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Quarry Team im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.289,72).
