In November 2018 Christies in London held the auction British Impressionism, which included the work An old Cornish manor by Stanhope Alexander Forbes. The auction ended at the price of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,398.48), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Stanhope Alexander Forbes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Quarry Team in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,289.72).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Impressionism durch, in der auch die Arbeit An old Cornish manor von Stanhope Alexander Forbes zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.398,48) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stanhope Alexander Forbes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Quarry Team im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.289,72).
