Estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2013 VAN HAM held the auction Alte Kunst, which included the work Vollmondnacht an der Küste by Sophus Jacobsen. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,612.00 20% above the estimate. Admittedly, works by Sophus Jacobsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gondoliers on the Grand Canal with a view of Santa Maria Maggiore, Venice in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 31,070.00 (€ 31,444.19).
Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2013 führte VAN HAM die Auktion Alte Kunst durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vollmondnacht an der Küste von Sophus Jacobsen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.612,00 und damit 20% über dem Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sophus Jacobsen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gondoliers on the Grand Canal with a view of Santa Maria Maggiore, Venice im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.070,00 (€ 31.444,19).
