Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sophus Jacobsen could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Art Part II auction, the work Snowy Churchyard changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,688.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sophus Jacobsen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gondoliers on the Grand Canal with a view of Santa Maria Maggiore, Venice, which sold at auction in October 2002 for USD 31,070.00 (€ 31,444.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sophus Jacobsen konnte im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion European Art Part II wechselte die Arbeit Snowy Churchyard für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.688,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sophus Jacobsen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gondoliers on the Grand Canal with a view of Santa Maria Maggiore, Venice beobachtet, die im Oktober 2002 für USD 31.070,00 (€ 31.444,19) versteigert wurde.
