In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Desire is This and Imprison You (Two Works) by Song Kun. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 529,200.00 (€ 63,984.13), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Song Kun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden of Auspicious Animals in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 2,375,000.00 (€ 269,018.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Desire is This and Imprison You (Two Works) von Song Kun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 529.200,00 (€ 63.984,13) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Song Kun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden of Auspicious Animals im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.375.000,00 (€ 269.018,38).
