In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Horse Tamed by Solon Hannibal Borglum. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,470.15), 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Solon Hannibal Borglum - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sioux Indian Buffalo Dancer, which sold at auction in May 2009 for USD 37,500.00 (€ 26,546.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Horse Tamed von Solon Hannibal Borglum zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.470,15) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Solon Hannibal Borglum mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sioux Indian Buffalo Dancer beobachtet, die im Mai 2009 für USD 37.500,00 (€ 26.546,79) versteigert wurde.
