Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Solon Hannibal Borglum could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection auction, the work Buffalo Dancer changed hands for USD 3,825.00 (€ 3,241.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Solon Hannibal Borglum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sioux Indian Buffalo Dancer in May 2009 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 26,546.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Solon Hannibal Borglum konnte im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection wechselte die Arbeit Buffalo Dancer für USD 3.825,00 (€ 3.241,53) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Solon Hannibal Borglum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sioux Indian Buffalo Dancer im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 26.546,79).
