Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A budgerow (keelless barge) on the river Ganges (illustrated); and Two patellas (trading boats) by Sita Ram was sold in the Exploration & Travel with Visions of India auction at Christies in London in September 2000. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,796.80), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sita Ram - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les bords du Gange, which sold at auction in March 2007 for EUR 27,600.00.

Die Arbeit A budgerow (keelless barge) on the river Ganges (illustrated); and Two patellas (trading boats) von Sita Ram wurde im September 2000 in der Auktion Exploration & Travel with Visions of India bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.796,80) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sita Ram mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Les bords du Gange beobachtet, die im März 2007 für EUR 27.600,00 versteigert wurde.
