Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2016 Christies in London held the auction Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector, which included the work Pope Julius II, after Raphael by William Rothenstein. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,881.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Rothenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Souvenir Of Scarborough in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,528.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pope Julius II, after Raphael von William Rothenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.881,95) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Rothenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Souvenir Of Scarborough im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.528,30).
