This artwork by William Rothenstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2015. In the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London auction, the work A Farm in Burgundy sold for GBP 14,375.00 (€ 20,268.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Rothenstein; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Souvenir Of Scarborough sold at auction in December 2014 with the realized price of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,528.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Rothenstein erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, London wurde die Arbeit A Farm in Burgundy für GBP 14.375,00 (€ 20.268,57) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William Rothenstein; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Souvenir Of Scarborough im Dezember 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.528,30).
