Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With Tulips by William MacTaggart was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2010. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,385.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William MacTaggart - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Gauldrons, Machrihanish, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 26,400.00 (€ 38,932.02).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.385,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William MacTaggart mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Gauldrons, Machrihanish beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 26.400,00 (€ 38.932,02) versteigert wurde.
