Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Silent Night by William MacTaggart was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,771.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William MacTaggart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gauldrons, Machrihanish in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 26,400.00 (€ 38,932.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Silent Night von William MacTaggart kam im November 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.771,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William MacTaggart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Gauldrons, Machrihanish im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.400,00 (€ 38.932,02).
