Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Brown Trout by William Jardine for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,902.62). This price was achieved in the auction Scottish and Sporting Pictures at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William Jardine have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2011 by the work Eighteen Entomological studies, from the Naturalist's Library at GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,629.24).
