Auction result fails to reach estimate
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Ten sceneries with birds in four frames by William Jardine for DKK 1,500.00 (€ 201.33). This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, furniture and varia at Bruun Rasmussen and was even lower than the DKK 3,000.00 estimate set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Jardine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eighteen Entomological studies, from the Naturalist's Library in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,629.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Ten sceneries with birds in four frames von William Jardine für DKK 1.500,00 (€ 201,33) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, furniture and varia bei Bruun Rasmussen erzielt und lag noch unterhalb des vom Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreises von DKK 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Jardine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eighteen Entomological studies, from the Naturalist's Library im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.629,24).
