It achieved a price of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,456.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Admittedly, works by William Blake Richmond have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Watchers in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 72,500.00 (€ 81,426.82).

Die Arbeit Head study for 'The Song of Miriam' von William Blake Richmond wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.456,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Blake Richmond auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Watchers im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.500,00 (€ 81.426,82).
