This artwork by Kyffin Williams achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Above Nantlle 50.8 x 61 cm. (20 x 24 in.) sold for GBP 38,100.00 (€ 44,149.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kyffin Williams; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bryn Y'R Hên Bobl sold at auction in November 2005 with the realized price of GBP 57,600.00 (€ 84,621.68).
