Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Seminar on Victorian Studies, Canada by Hugh Casson was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 470.00 (€ 721.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hugh Casson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An original architectural plan for the Festival of Britain, 1951, which sold at auction in December 2002 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,525.16).
