In July this year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work 'Conversation piece', 1932 by Herbert James Gunn. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,213.55), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert James Gunn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 65,725.00 (€ 94,545.06).

Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Conversation piece', 1932 von Herbert James Gunn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.040,00 (€ 8.213,55) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert James Gunn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 65.725,00 (€ 94.545,06).
