Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Gwen and Diana Gunn, the artist's first wife and daughter by Herbert James Gunn was sold in the British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,773.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Herbert James Gunn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 65,725.00 (€ 94,545.06).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Gwen and Diana Gunn, the artist's first wife and daughter von Herbert James Gunn wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.773,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert James Gunn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 65.725,00 (€ 94.545,06).
