Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Across The Tagus, Toledo by Herbert James Gunn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,528.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Herbert James Gunn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 65,725.00 (€ 94,545.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Across The Tagus, Toledo von Herbert James Gunn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.528,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herbert James Gunn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grand Bassin, Le Jardin Des Tuileries, Paris im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 65.725,00 (€ 94.545,06).
