Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francis Bernard Dicksee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2016. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Stella sold for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 62,381.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bernard Dicksee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Yseult in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68).
