Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Study of A Young Woman, In Profile And With Eyes Downcast by Francis Bernard Dicksee was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,933.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Bernard Dicksee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Yseult in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,155,000.00 (€ 1,015,027.68).
