Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Early Spring, near Trefriw, North Wales by Ernest Albert Waterlow was sold in the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 717.00 (€ 1,073.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Albert Waterlow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In His Hand are the Deep Places of the Earth' (Psalm XCV) in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 31,689.77).
