Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian & Edwardian Art, which included the work The Village Postman by Ernest Albert Waterlow. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,347.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Albert Waterlow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In His Hand are the Deep Places of the Earth' (Psalm XCV), which sold at auction in September 2007 for GBP 22,100.00 (€ 31,689.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Village Postman von Ernest Albert Waterlow zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.347,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Albert Waterlow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In His Hand are the Deep Places of the Earth' (Psalm XCV) beobachtet, die im September 2007 für GBP 22.100,00 (€ 31.689,77) versteigert wurde.
