Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Portrait of Daphne Gaskell by Edward Burne-Jones. The price achieved of GBP 17,920.00 (€ 17,920.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burne-Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love among the Ruins in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 14,845,875.00 (€ 16,963,999.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Daphne Gaskell von Edward Burne-Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.920,00 (€ 17.920,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Burne-Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Love among the Ruins im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.845.875,00 (€ 16.963.999,76).
