In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Loch Shiel by David Young Cameron. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,399.53), 48% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Young Cameron - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Castle Urquhart and Loch Ness, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,851.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Loch Shiel von David Young Cameron zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.399,53) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Young Cameron mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Castle Urquhart and Loch Ness beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.851,80) versteigert wurde.
