In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work Saint John The Baptist sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,735.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simone Cantarini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of A Seated Gentleman And A Lady Holding A Rosary in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 408,000.00 (€ 323,193.92).
