Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Simon Maris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2000. In the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Portrait of a young girl, seated, holding a doll sold for NLG 4,095.70 (€ 1,742.41) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Simon Maris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two young girls in the dunes in March 2000 with an auction result of NLG 23,404.00 (€ 9,956.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Simon Maris erzielte im März 2000 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a young girl, seated, holding a doll für NLG 4.095,70 (€ 1.742,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von NLG 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Maris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two young girls in the dunes im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 23.404,00 (€ 9.956,60).
